  5. On October 19, 1992 Apple Computer, Inc. announced the Macintosh IIvx.  The
  6. information below outlines the product features, pricing and availability.

  8. PRODUCT OVERVIEW
  9. The Macintosh IIvx computer adds a new dimension to the Macintosh II line with
  10. more power and more flexibility, at an affordable price. Positioned between the
  11. low-end Macintosh Classic line and the professionally oriented high-end
  12. Macintosh Quadra computers, the new Macintosh IIvx is the answer for customers
  13. who have outgrown their first Macintosh and are looking for faster performance,
  14. more memory to run more applications, larger screens, and color.

  16. It is identical to the Performa 600, except it has a built in 32-MHz 68882 math
  17. coprocessor and 32KB direct mapped cache.

  19. The IIvx is enclosed in a new sheet-metal box which allows for three expansion
  20. slots, a built-in hard drive, floppy drive and an optional built in CD ROM
  21. drive.

  23. The Macintosh IIvx is available world wide.  A Macintosh Model IIvi will also
  24. be introduced but will not be available domestically.
